Beaumaris Singers are a chamber choir of around 20 voices whose aim is to delight audiences with excellent performances of the choral repertoire. We perform both a cappella and accompanied music from a repertoire spanning five centuries. Recent performances include Handel’s Messiah, Howells’ Requiem, Whitacre’s Sleep, Rutter’s Magnificat, Bach’s Lobet den Herrn and Purcell’s King Arthur.
The choir has broadcast on radio on three occasions, and has performed with Russell Watson in Manchester and Birmingham. For Christmas 2011, members of the choir took part in the BBC’s Songs of Praise from Cound Church. The choir is equally at home with lighter repertoire, providing high quality entertainment at social and charity events. On Veterans Day 2012 we were invited to RAF Cosford to entertain 200 assembled guests. In celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee year, we performed a concert of Coronation Anthems in Newport.
